Youth Musical Theatre Classes in London
Musical theatre classes for ages 11-18
Come and join Musical Mayhem's Youth Academy
Fun, inclusive singing, dancing and acting classes for ages 11–18 year olds
Whether your child dreams of performing in the west end, wants to build confidence, or is simply looking to make new friends, Musical Mayhem Youth Academy is the place to belong. Not every young person joins us because they dream of the West End. Some come because they love performing. Others come to build confidence, make friends or simply find a place where they feel they belong.
Every Friday evening, young people aged 11–18 come together to sing, dance, act and have fun in a supportive, encouraging environment where everyone is welcome.
We believe every performer deserves the chance to shine. Whether they’re taking to the stage for the first time or already have experience, every student is encouraged to challenge themselves, develop new skills and celebrate their own progress.
Throughout the year, students work on songs and scenes from a variety of musicals, perform in showcases and our annual theatre production, and have the opportunity to work towards Mountview Musical Theatre Exams, earning nationally recognised qualifications and UCAS points.
More than anything, Youth Academy is a place where young people can be themselves, grow in confidence and become part of a supportive theatre family.

Musical Theatre Qualifications with Mountview Exams
We partner with Mountview Exams to offer your child the opportunity to put their dancing, acting, and singing skills to the test.
At Musical Mayhem, we are all about having fun, showcasing talent and creativity, and making friends for life. But for those that want to put their new performance skills to the test, we have partnered with Mountview Exams, offering our Youth Academy students the chance to receive musical theatre qualifications.

Frequently asked questions about our Youth Theatre Classes
What is the age range for the Youth Academy sessions?
Our youth academy classes accommodate children and teenagers aged from 11-18.
We have dedicated classes for Tots (Pre-School), Infants (Reception-Year 2), Juniors (Year 3-6) and Seniors (Year 7-13). We also have a special After School Club (Year 2-6) at Albion Primary School.
What is the commitment required, especially for performances and rehearsals?
We aim for two performances a year. Regular attendance is required, especially during the run-up to a performance. Some out-of-class rehearsal time may be necessary but we will keep you fully informed about these, in plenty of time.
Are your teachers qualified, and what is your safeguarding policy?
All of our teachers are professionally trained, experienced and hold qualifications in musical theatre. They also all hold enhanced DBS checks.
We operate a strict safeguarding policy, including a clear student-to-teacher ratio and having a designated Safeguarding Lead.
What if my child is unwell or unable to make a lesson?
If your child cannot attend their usual class, please let us know. Do not send your child if they are ill, and please allow 48 hours following any bouts of vomiting or diarrhea.
If your child misses a class, no refunds are issued for missed sessions within a term, however we may offer a transfer to another class if space allows.
